Child porn charge shocks Charlotte neighborhood
As word spread Thursday that a south Charlotte
man had been charged in an international child
porn ring, his neighbors expressed fear and
outrage, and his US Airways coworkers said
the allegations seemed out of character.
Kenneth Mark Fisher, 45, has been charged
with third-degree sexual exploitation of
a minor.

State charges could be filed against Royal Raymond
Weller, the Clarksville man facing federal charges
for serving as the primary hub for a worldwide
child pornography ring, prosecutors said yesterday.
Also yesterday, Weller, 49, an appliance repairman,
asked that a federal detention hearing scheduled
for yesterday be canceled. A federal judge was
going to consider whether to release him on bond.

Former Sunday School Teacher Arrested For Child Porn Possession
A former Sunday school teacher from Oakfield,
Genesee County, is one of 27 people from around
the world arrested in connection with a private
Internet chat room allegedly used to share child
pornography videos. David Perozzi, 51, is accused
of possessing child pornography.

Man Charged with Child Porn Back in Court April 11
A Brant County man charged with possession
of child pornography will be back court April
11th. The OPP child pornography section charged
a 55 year old Robert Eugene Lewis on March 13th
after a two week long investigation. A desktop
computer, computer disks, and videotapes were
seized from the Walnut Street Paris home. Police
also seized marihuana and an unregistered shotgun.
Lewis is facing one count of possession of child
pornography, possession of a controlled substance
for the purpose of trafficking, and possession
of an unregistered firearm.

Teen: Chat led to rape
Man convicted of child porn charges in 2004 arrested
in sexual assault of 15-year-old girl. A Markham man,
swept up three years ago in the largest ever international
kiddie porn probe, is now charged with the rape
of a 15-year-old girl he allegedly lured using
the Internet. Chou Eng "Charles" Fong, 27, who was
convicted in 2004 of possession of child pornography,
was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual assault
after a girl told police she was raped in her own
bedroom by a man she met on the Internet.

Eight users accused of selling counterfeit wares
online. In a continued effort to crack down on

Groups rail against proposed data-breach notification law
Consumer and privacy advocacy groups are up
in arms over a proposed federal data-breach
notification bill that today was approved
by the House Financial Services Committee.
The bill, which passed by a 48-16 vote,
is H.R. 3997 -- otherwise known as the
Financial Data Protection Act of 2005.

Court Ruling Validates EnCase Computer Forensic Software
Guidance Software Inc., the world leader in
computer investigation solutions, announced
that a Texas Appellate Court re-affirmed the
reliability and use of the EnCase computer
forensic software. The court, in its recent
published decision, noted that "EnCase is
a 'field standard' for forensic computer
examination." As a result, the court upheld
the defendant's conviction for aggravated
sexual assault on a child and a life sentence
was secured through the prosecution's use
of EnCase software.

SICKOS BEWARE. The Ottawa Police high-crime
unit is about to grow, freeing up more detectives
to go hunting for child porn creeps lurking
on the Internet. The four cops on the unit will
soon get three more officers working on cases

a matter of just being reactive," Det. Dan

Bank moves fast to close phishers
THE National Australia Bank was able to quickly
shut down three sites in China that launched
a phishing attack on it. The bank's security
response team detected the attack last Tuesday
night and had shut down the sites by early
Wednesday morning. A bank spokeswoman said
such sites usually took 24 hours to shut down,
so the overnight turnaround had been very quick.
The threat had not been classified as a major
scam by the bank but deemed a "random generated
email".
